Mr. Khokhar's rating is based on the fact that, prior to running in the September 2025 Hamilton City Council Ward 8 by-election, he gave perfect answers to CLC's federal election questionnaire while seeking the Conservative Party of Canada nomination the riding of Hamilton Mountain in the April 2025 federal race.

In 2014, according to media reports the city councillors voted unanimously in favour of a motion asking the federal government to take away the free speech rights of pro-life activists. The motion was sponsored by Councillor Whitehead.
