1. Organizations like Planned Parenthood (PP) routinely counsel women to have abortions, and increasingly, are involved in dispensing the chemical abortion pill. Given that abortion is a controversial practice that many taxpayers in your municipality find abhorrent, do you agree that PP and similar “sexual health agencies" should not receive taxpayer funds through the municipality? survey not sentsurvey not sentsurvey not sentsurvey not sent

4. There has been a move in some municipal jurisdictions to pass bylaws which establish censorship zones, also called “bubble zones”, around abortion facilities. These unconstitutional censorship zones make it illegal to express peaceful pro-life speech, including silent prayer, on taxpayer-owned public sidewalks within the vicinity of abortion facilities and pharmacies which dispense abortion pills. If elected, would you vote to oppose such a censorship bylaw, if it were ever proposed? survey not sentsurvey not sentsurvey not sentsurvey not sent

On Thursday, Nov. 14th, 2024, Gordon Perks encouraged his fellow Toronto Councillors to vote against a motion to have the city mark December as Christian Heritage Month. In speaking out against the proposal, he went on an anti-Christian tirade, deriding the motion by saying Canada was already “soaked and steeped” in Christianity, so, in his opinion, it was not necessary to pay further tribute to the Christian Faith. In the meantime, however, he said it was important to honour the heritage of other cultures in an effort to “rebalance” the country. Further to this, Perks said he believes the term “Christian Heritage” is not a “neutral phrase,” and referenced the Christian Heritage Party (CHP) in a negative light for its socially-conservative values, therefore, he argues, honouring December as a Christian Heritage Month would be inappropriate for the City of Toronto. To watch Gordon’s full rant, go to the “Video” section of his profile.
